What can apprentices at HAWE look forward to?

The training in both areas is very independent. You learn a lot about self-management and taking the initiative. The administration is where everything comes together and you have an insight into almost all areas of our company.

What do you place particular emphasis on during the apprentices' training?

Probably the most important thing is a basis of trust and pleasant interaction, so that everyone feels comfortable and can give their best.

What do you expect from your trainees?

A high degree of personal responsibility, organisational talent and, of course, a desire to learn something new. We place a lot of value on trusting cooperation and, since we work a lot in projects as a team, honesty and the ability to work in a team are very important.

What are the focal points of your training?

On the one hand, of course, the focus is on the specified contents of the respective vocational training. Nevertheless, we also want to show our trainees HAWE-Weld and prepare them in the best possible way for the future as skilled workers. In addition to the technical topics, this also includes social aspects.

What excites you about your job, why did you become a trainer?

It is hard for us to imagine a better job than that of a trainer. We are part of a very important development period in the life of every young person. We want to help lay the foundation for a successful and committed start. This applies above all to the professional path of life, but it also influences the personal and private part. We are grateful for the trust our apprentices place in us and contribute our knowledge and experience to be the right partner during this time.

What do you expect from your trainees?

During their training, we expect our trainees to have a high willingness to learn and motivation. Diligence, commitment, punctuality, independence and the ability to work in a team are very important to us, but also honesty and, above all, respectful and collegial cooperation. We want to promote everyone's personal development and think it's great how everyone can develop their own. It is also important to be able to deal with problems in a situational way and to find solutions as best we can.

What are your training focal points?

Of course, technical focal points, geared to the job description and the final examination, but personal development as a prospective skilled worker is also an important focus.

What excites you about your profession, why did you become a trainer?

We like dealing with young people and want to pass on our knowledge to them. Contributing to their development and creating the basis for "growing up" are great and fulfilling tasks.

No two days are the same, we are always on the move. Just like the people here, the diversity is great and it is nice to get to know so many facets.

What is particularly important to you when training apprentices?

My philosophy on training apprentices is based on four central pillars. Firstly, teaching technical skills is of the utmost importance to me. A solid knowledge base is essential in order to successfully master the challenges of the metalworking professions. Secondly, I attach great importance to practical training. The acquisition of manual skills and the application of theoretical knowledge in real working environments are essential. At the same time, the individual development of each trainee is important to me. Everyone has unique strengths that need to be discovered and developed. My aim here is to optimize the individual learning process through targeted support. Ultimately, I strive to create a positive learning atmosphere in which work is fun. The joy of learning and enthusiasm for the metalworking professions should motivate the trainees and lead to a successful completion of their training.

What do you expect from the trainees?

When training apprentices in the technical field, it is important to me that they show enthusiasm for technology and enjoy their work. Their curiosity and willingness to learn are crucial to their success. Honesty in cooperation creates trust and promotes personal development.

What does the day-to-day work of apprentices look like?

The work routine of metal technology trainees is practice-oriented and varied. They work in workshops, manufacture components according to drawings, operate machines, monitor quality, carry out assembly work and observe safety regulations. In addition to practical work, they receive theoretical instruction and often work in a team.

What is the focus of your training?

The training focus of the metal technology specialist (assembly technology) apprenticeship is on assembly work, production techniques, quality assurance and occupational safety. Practical training in the assembly of components, various production techniques, checking quality standards and raising awareness of occupational safety, including the safe handling of machines, is important.

What excites you about your job?

What excites me about my job is the constant opportunity to solve technical challenges. Every day brings new challenges that require creative thinking and deepen my technical understanding. Last but not least, working in a team enriches me, because together we can often find more effective solutions and inspire each other.

Why did you decide to become a trainer?

I decided to become a trainer because I enjoy teaching. The opportunity to pass on my professional expertise and support others in their personal and professional development fulfills me.
